The Year of the Fire Horse: A Spectacular Night at Rock Salt Bristol

What a night on Cotham Hill!

The energy was electric, the street was alive, and the spirit of celebration was in full swing.

We are still buzzing from our Lunar New Year celebrations here at Rock Salt.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse in true Bristol street-food style.

Bringing the Streets of Asia to Cotham Hill

At Rock Salt, we’ve always been about more than just the food on the plate.

We’re about the experience, the culture, and that unmistakable street-side energy.

Seeing the vibrant colours of the traditional lions against the backdrop of our Bristol home was a moment to remember.

It felt like the perfect bridge between our Indian and Chinese roots and our local community.

The Magic of the Lion Dance

We were thrilled to be accompanied by the incredible @uobliongroup for the evening.

They delivered a truly spectacular lion dance performance that stopped traffic (literally!).

But it wasn’t just about the visual display.

In tradition, the lion dance is a powerful symbol used to ward off evil spirits and misfortune.

As the lions moved through the crowd, they ushered in prosperity, good fortune, and happiness for the year ahead.

Luck, Prosperity, and Great Company

Lunar New Year is a time for fresh starts and gathering with friends and family.

Seeing so many familiar faces—and plenty of new ones—sharing in the joy of the performance was the highlight of our week.

We want to wish our entire Rock Salt family a year filled with health, success, and immense joy.
